Guys, have you heard or seen this brand Washi Tape? They have been blowing up on blogs and Pinterest like nobodies beeswax.  The thing is that they are such a totally duh simple thing. Interesting looking, tons of fun prints and colors all on tape. I love how they make a simple wrapping job look extra special and fun. I have also seen people use them to make a design on the floor for their kids or even cute flags with them. With holidays coming up, you know I am going to get on this.

I can just imagine all the funny prints coming from his mouth. Frog Tape Dispenser from See Jane Work ...and possibly my desk at work.

Ever since PB has moved in, I have made the bed every morning. I have come to love how neat and tidy a made bed looks. And the best part of it is that it is hardly any work. Thats because PB and I don't sleep with any sheets. Thats right. We have pillows, a fitted sheet that covers the mattress and our down comforter. Thats it. Ever since college, I gave up on sheets, they just seemed like one more thing that could make me hot and get my legs tangled in. When I first slept at PBs house I noticed he followed the same practice and was so happy. And now Bed Bath and Beyond is selling fitted sheets only instead of the entire set.  Is this crazy? What sheets do you sleep with? I am really curious so let me know.

what are you dvr-ing?

Fall TV is upon is. The time of year where I think that I will get into a new show only to realize months later that I never gave anything a try. I wanted to watch Elementary (I love love love the Sherlock from BBC ((thanks Michelle for the tip)) but completely forgot and don't know which night it is on. I am giving Mindy a try but so far am slightly under-whelmed.  I am true to New Girl, Modern Family and while it kills me, How I Met Your Mother. And can anyone tell me whats good out there?

this week in meals

Here is what I am planning on for this week., albit it be a day behind.  I do want to be completely honest with you guys. Sometimes I get going with the week, I don't make what I plan. Either they don't have something at the store or I forget a major item. Sometimes night plans come up unexpectedly or I am just so exhausted that I simply cannot do it. But I still love to make a plan, cooking is my relaxing time and I try to meet these goals and like this blog, see where it takes me. So what are you making this week?

#1 Bang Bang Shrimp: I may try to make a slightly healthy version but lets go with it.

#2 Momofuku Brussel Sprouts. Come to mommy.

#3 Chicken and Corn Soup. Seems perfect now that the weather is chilly at night

#4 Eggplant Involtini. Oh yeah. I have some left over ricotta from this weekend and this seems like the perfect way to use it.

#5. Pirogi and Sausage. I have this listed as #5 but it is probably my #1. I think it will be perfect for Wednesday night when the debates are on and PB and I are totally in the zone.

a cheap thrill

Ok, I know that I am on a spending freeze (and really trying hard to stick to it though Zara-- you are so on point that it is making this very difficult). But I do love me a cheap thrill. Big impact, little spend. And when I saw that these puppies were buy on, get one half off at Duane Reade and CVS, I knew that it was meant to be. I have always loved the the Just Bitten line from Revlon but found that the old marker on one end, balm on the other was doomed. The marker would get dry or I would lose a cap and the whole thing would be a wash. Now, they have combined these amazing colors stains and their balm into one chubby pencil type concoction. So maybe I don't know the science behind it but let me tell you, they are awesome. They feel like a lip balm but have such fibrant colors. And at around $8.00 bucks a pop (depending on where you find them, Target was the cheapest for me but wasn't doing the BOGO) they aren't breaking the bank anytime soon. When I was at Jewish holidays, I showed them to my sisters and my cousin Jill (who used to work at Elle so has some major make-up street cred) totally had the same ones in her bag. I think I smell a trend here.



I thought about trying to photoshop some polish on my nails but I am just not that good.
